The Scholarship That Shaped an Influencer
The first recipient of the International Communications Industries Foundation's
(ICIF) Michael Vergauwen Scholarship, Dawn Meade, CTS® — known to many by her social media
handle @AVDawn — is a perfect example of someone who took the resources available to her and
ran with them. Since earning her Master of Science Degree in Technology Management/Information Systems
and her MBA from the University of Maryland, she has supplemented her day job as Director of Marketing
for Net-AV with writing for industry publications, serving on InfoComm committees, mentoring and
encouraging women as a member of the Women of InfoComm Network (WIN), and more.

achieved its InfoComm Audiovisual Provider of Excellence (APEx) status.
"Following the path from Essentials, to Technologist, to CTS was a positive way to
gain and apply knowledge in stages," says Hale, CTS. "I can recommend this professional development
