About Us

International Communications Industries Foundation

The International Communications Industries Foundation is operated for the public good to carry out charitable, educational and scientific activities for InfoComm International. The Foundation is a nonprofit and generates support from corporations, philanthropic foundations and government sources.

With the help of InfoComm International® members and the entire audiovisual industry, the foundation maintains a rigorous agenda that supports the profession. It also develops and supports programs designed to equip the next generation of audiovisual industry leaders with the knowledge and skills required to successfully manage the challenges and opportunities in the future.

Scholarship

The ICIF board believes it's important for both the industry foundation and the member company to have an equal stake investing in the development of a workforce. This involvement becomes a force multiplier and sustainable model for tracking recipients and results. The selected scholarship recipient will receive $4,000 for the school year. The member company will contribute $2,000 and the foundation will match the $2,000 scholarship. Both the member company and ICIF funds are provided directly to the educational institution.

Internship

The ICIF board further believes that an internship is a critical part of the overall plan to successfully engage students in the industry. Therefore, member companies will create and give the student/intern hands-on experience in the AV industry. ICIF plans to provide some examples and/or guidelines for this internship, but the details of this are up to the member company. The requirement is to provide the scholarship recipient a paid internship at the member company where he or she will work a minimum of five hours per week in industry-relevant duties.

InfoComm Education/Certification

During participation in the grant program, the member company will encourage and assist the student/intern to complete Quick Start to the AV Industry, Essentials of AV Technology, CTS Prep Online, AV Math Online and finally to take the CTS exam.

Mentoring

The member company sponsor and scholarship recipient will be enrolled in the InfoComm mentor program, which consists of the mentor and the mentee communicating at least once a month.

Thank you to all of the generous supporters of the International Communications Industries Foundation. Your support is critical to advancing the industry into a thriving future.
