InfoComm 2013 People's Choice Awards
Do you have an outstanding project that deserves recognition by your peers? InfoComm and NewBay Media have announced that projects entered in the Pro AV Spotlight Awards and the AV Technology Awards will also be eligible for the First Annual People's Choice Awards at InfoComm 2013. Fifteen finalists for the InfoComm 2013 People's Choice Awards will be promoted in an Awards Showcase on the Show floor June 12-14 in Orlando, where registered attendees will vote onsite for winners in five categories: Corporate, Education, Government, Healthcare and Hospitality/Entertainment.
To enter, simply complete your online entry to the Pro AV Spotlight Awards or the AV Technology Awards, and your installation will automatically be considered for inclusion as a finalist in the applicable People's Choice Awards categories. Almo Pro A/V E4 Tour Pulls Out the RUs
For the first time, all 12 of the education courses on the spring 2013 leg of Almo Professional A/V's E4 AV training and networking tour are worth valuable InfoComm International® CTS® renewal units (RUs). Registration is open for the first two E4 events of the year, taking place in Chicago on March 28 and San Francisco on April 25.
The 2013 E4 events will include three education tracks that focus on emerging technology, technical knowledge and business savvy. Paul Streffon, CTS-D, CTS-I, of InfoComm will present sessions on Accessing Network Readiness for AV Systems (1.5 RUs) and Designing for Optimum Image Quality (1 RU). Other training topics focus on digital signage for integrators, a videowall start-to-finish guide, IT and AV installs, connectivity buzzwords, managing and troubleshooting HDCP, integrating mobile devices in AV and more.
Launched in December 2009, the E4 AV tour is a free, full-day program with an educational focus that allows partners to earn RUs while networking with the industry's top manufacturers. CTS Exam Books Scam Alert!
Beware of books on e-booksellers' websites that claim to be about the CTS exams. They're not. None of the books in question provides technical information about audiovisual equipment, its design, installation or operation. The CTS Certified Technology Specialist Exam Guide, First Edition, published by McGraw Hill, is the only CTS study guide authorized by InfoComm International. The second edition will be available June 2013.
