New Computer Technology Course Converges AV and IT
To help students gain a competitive edge in the AV industry, Boston’s Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology (BFIT) created an Introduction to Networked AV Technology course. "The traditional AV systems are going by the wayside, so through this course, we will teach modern video systems, a mix between hardware and software," writes BFIT Professor Larson Rogers.

Bringing AV Education to the Middle East

InfoComm has signed an agreement with e-sharp Consultancy of the United Arab Emirates to offer AV courses in the Middle East. Their first official joint education session will be a one-day InfoComm AV Installation Skills Day training workshop in Dubai Dec. 10. InfoComm Releases Pro-AV Business Index

With the launch of the Pro-AV Business Index, InfoComm offers a monthly snapshot of the health of the commercial audiovisual industry. Survey respondents from AV companies report business activity (sales and employment) relative to the prior month, and the index is calculated to measure perceived change in their sentiment. Organizations can correlate the InfoComm Pro-AV Business Index with their internal sales information and other data used for business forecasting. Download it for free.
