Missing: An AV Professional in a Key Sustainability Role
When facility managers analyze data on efficiency and sustainability, they need a clear picture of how well a building’s total performance is meeting their business goals. But they do not have the total picture right now, only isolated data from key disconnected systems. To help them with this problem, someone from the AV industry, such as a control system programmer or designer, should be a part of the management and coordination process. Don’t worry: InfoComm's Integrated Building Technology (IBT) Task Force is on the case. Discover how the AV industry — and you — can be a part of this new frontier.

Test Your CTS IQ
Question: During the commissioning process for an AV system installation, how will the AV technician confirm that the video display system is working properly?

  1. Connect display devices to a test signal generator and calibrate at points along the path.
  2. Call the manufacturer’s representative, who will test connections with an oscilloscope.
  3. Connect all devices in relay directly to an Ohm meter to confirm calibration.
  4. Configure the system using an oscilloscope to confirm signal.

Find the answer in the new (free) CTS® practice exam. Download it now.

How I Added ‘Cool-Looking Letters’ to My Name
"I decided to earn my CTS® because I wanted to progress my career and have an accredited and peer-recognized metric of my industry knowledge. Once I bought the CTS Exam Guide, I got my head in the game and solidified my goal to pass the CTS exam. The resources the study guide provided — general content, chapter tests, glossary, appendix, CD-ROM practice exams, etc. — gave a nice varied approach to digesting all the information. The content was concise, yet comprehensive. And as a sort of ‘Industry 101,’ I thought it covered a little bit of everything without getting overly technical. Now I have some cool-looking letters to add to my name."
~ Mark Ullrich, CTS, Sr. Technical Sales Engineer, Symetrix Inc.

 ISE + CTS Combo
Here’s another reason to book your trip to Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the largest professional AV and systems integration tradeshow ever held in Europe: You can earn your CTS®, CTS®-D or CTS®-I just steps away from the show floor. ISE is coming soon to Amsterdam, so start studying now and reserve one of the limited exam seats.
