First Standard Available for Public Review

InfoComm is making a draft performance standard, "Audio Coverage Uniformity in Enclosed Listener Areas", INFOCOMM 1M:2009 DS 1, available for public review. The standard provides a characterization of, and a procedure to measure, the spatial coverage of audio systems in a variety of venues. Application of this standard assists in verifying that all listeners will hear an audio system at approximately the same sound pressure level throughout the desired frequency spectrum range, no matter where the listeners are positioned in the designated listening area. This review process is in accordance with the ANSI Accredited Standards Developer process. <more>

Commenting procedures and more information in the form of a single-page summary are available at www.infocomm.org/standards. Comments are encouraged from InfoComm members and all interested parties, internationally. The review period will remain open until February 16, 2009. For additional information please email standards@infocomm.org.
