This Time, Itís Personal: Social Media Integrates Itself Into Event AV

Like peanut butter and chocolate before it, in retrospect it seems inevitable that social media and live-event AV technology would make for a cool mashup. Increasingly, we're seeing pictures and video from Facebook, and images and comments from Twitter and Instagram leaping from users' mobile devices onto 60-inch LCDs and 20-foot projection screens at corporate and other types of events. Dan Daley gives an in-depth look at this trend.

 Upcoming Webinars

We invite you to attend the following webinars:

  • The Reality of Radio Frequency (RF) Access Changes to AV Users
    May 28, 1 p.m. (New York), 6 p.m. (London)
As a consequence of the Analogue to Digital Switchover and the subsequent sell-off of this spectrum, wireless microphones have become a mainstay topic for AV users. This seminar will cover how different types of wireless systems operate, from analogue to digital, from UHF to 2.4 GHz, and further aim to demystify some of the confusion that surrounds this vital topic for the AV industry.

  • Manufacturers' Training: Kramer Electronics — 4K: There's More Than Meets the Eye!
    May 29, 1 p.m. (New York), 6 p.m. (London)
4K (UHDTV) is coming, and as usual, there's lots of incomplete information or misinformation circulating about this new video and display format. But 4K isn't just about more pixels on the screen — there are many changes in the works that will make UHDTV a substantial upgrade from 2K. In this 30-minute session, you'll learn about pixel counts and aspect ratio definitions, new codecs for streaming 4K video, new imaging and more.
