CTS Renewal Deadline Surprise: You May Still Have Time
If you passed the CTS exam before it was being given at the Prometric testing centers, you may have more time than you think to renew your certification. As part of the transitional period, those who earned a general CTS under the former system (passed the test at the InfoComm Academy or online and not at a Prometric testing center) have 12 months after the expiration date to renew.

Please check your expiration date! An easy way is to look yourself up in the search on our website. You worked too hard to let your important designation lapse!

2010 is the Biggest Renewal Year Ever
Did you get your certification in 2007? If so, 2010 is your year to renew. It's up to you to get that application submitted. You probably already have your 30 RUs — check your transcript; complete the form, and send in your renewal fee, which covers three years.

Need more RUs? Check out the free Wednesday Webinar series, find more than 400 courses that offer RUs or visit the website.

Performance Standards Program Seeks Liaisons to Other Associations
As InfoComm's Performance Standards Program has started work on its sixth standard development project, there is recognition that this work involves interfaces with many other professional organizations. In an effort to formalize these interactions, the Performance Standards Planning Committee has authorized the formation of the Performance Standards Liaison Committee. Currently, 14 volunteers are covering the following associations: AIA AAJ (Academy of Architecture for Justice), AES, ASA, BACNET, BICSI, CEDIA, IALD, IES, InfoComm Green AV Task Force, NFPA, SES, SID, Syn-Aud-Con and USGBC.

Additional liaisons are being sought with the following associations: AECT, AIA, ASHRAE, ASID, ASTC, BCA, BSI, CSI, ESTA, IMCCA, ISO, NAB, PLASA, PMI, SIA, SMPS, SMPTE, TIA, USITT and others that InfoComm members may see as valuable. Liaisons must be a member of the other association, and be active in its standards, education or governance. Liaisons will have minimal responsibility, including quarterly web conferences, calls to InfoComm if there are interesting or pressing developments, and representation of InfoComm Performance Standards within the other association. If you would like to participate, please email standards@infocomm.org.

Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Components Standards Group Clearing Comments
