GEN113 CTS Prep Virtual Classroom

Class size is limited to 25. Contact aeberle@infocomm.org for more information.

CTS Prep can help ease your nerves and boost your confidence before you take the Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) exam. Through this course, you will hone in on the specific areas where you need to focus your study time.

This virtual, five-week course combines live and self-pace study to help you focus your study plan to prepare for the Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) exam. Like a classroom course, CTS Prep Virtual Classroom includes lectures, assignments and discussions. Instead of meeting in person, students interact online through webinars and a discussion board.

The CTS Prep student resources are now easier than ever to use. The new Classroom Roadmap will guide you through each day of the course – highlighting the exam content items to be covered.

Who Should Take This Class
This course is a good fit for anyone who is preparing for the CTS exam and for current CTS holders who want to refresh their knowledge and earn renewal units (RUs).

Course Content
CTS Prep will guide you to explore the CTS exam content and work collaboratively with your peers in your studies. You will examine all of the content areas of the CTS exam:

  • Creating AV Solutions
  • Operating AV Solutions
  • Conducting AV Management Activities
  • Servicing AV Solutions

Plus, learn test-taking strategies and what to expect the day of the exam.

Important Note: Completion of this program in no way guarantees that you will pass the CTS exam, nor will this program cover all the topics listed in the test outline. By registering for this course, you are not signing up for the CTS exam. The CTS exam must be applied for, paid for and then scheduled separately at a Pearson VUE Testing Center. Please refer to the CTS Candidate Handbook or www.infocomm.org/cts for details.

Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended that students first complete Essentials of AV Technology; or pass the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist Test.

Course reading assignments will come from the CTS Exam Guide. Check with your manager or training supervisor to see if you have access to this book. If you do not have the book, you need to purchase it. Once you have registered for the course, you will get an email reminding you about the book.

Also, CTS Prep students automatically receive GEN104 AV Math Online registration

Course Structure
Students meet online for five weeks. Instructors deliver lectures through live webinars and prerecorded presentations. Students will complete online assignments such as readings, peer discussions and quizzes. Discussions take place on an online discussion board.
