Hong Kong Telecom Hosts Experience Week

InfoComm International® member Hong Kong Telecom (HKT) showcased its new breed of networked AV solutions when the company hosted Experience Week, 11-14 November. Demo booths showed how HKT takes a holistic approach to design and integration by considering elements such as networking and technology, space and environment, and broadcast content when setting out to create the most desirable audiovisual experience.

Current HKT projects include a transparent display solution for a local bank, which now wants HKT to replicate it at 10 other branches, each with a fresh set of environmental challenges.

InfoComm and FICCI See India's Digital Future

InfoComm and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) hosted a seminar and networking event 21 November in New Delhi. The event focused on leveraging pro-AV communications for India's digital future.

More than 120 attendees came out to learn about global trends in audiovisual and networking systems. InfoComm Director of Development, Asia Pacific, Jonathan Seller presented to the group and participated in a panel discussion. InfoComm members in attendance said they appreciated the chance to reach out to and engage with members of FICCI.

Exceptional Experiences at AETM Conference in Australia

InfoComm Executive Director and CEO David Labuskes, CTS®, RCDD, gave the keynote address for the Association of Educational Technology Managers' (AETM) 2014 Conference in Cairns, Queensland. The conference was held 11-13 November at James Cook University. InfoComm India 2014 Exceeds Expectations

The second InfoComm India Exhibition and Summit ended its three-day run 19 September. "We are gratified by the overwhelmingly positive response and feedback received from exhibitors and attendees," said Richard Tan, executive director of InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd. "Notwithstanding it being only the second edition, InfoComm India has become recognised in the industry as the premier platform for the convergence of world-class AV solution providers and a diverse range of end users."

More than 5,600 visitors from throughout the AV trade channel attended InfoComm India 2014 in Mumbai, up 28 percent from the prior year. Attendance at the special education summit, which provided a fruitful exchange of ideas on AV technologies and innovations, increased 40 percent. The strong support of 110 exhibitors further attested to the reputation of the show as the industry-leading showcase of AV solutions.

"This is our first experience at InfoComm India and it matches the international standards," said Vibhor Khanna, national sales manager for the Professional Systems Division at Bose Corp. InfoComm has been great and we met with the right audience. We look forward to our continued association with InfoComm."

Message From the Directors

Dear Friends,

Here is a problem we are happy to have: Last month, when Kramer Electronics India agreed to host two Installation Skills Days at its Bangalore offices, demand for this critical AV education was so great, we had to add a third day. The hands-on training was aimed at field technicians who regularly install AV components, pull and terminate cable, and perform other installation tasks at job sites. Thanks to our gracious hosts and to all the professionals who came out.

We are seeing this kind of enthusiasm for AV training and information all over the Asia & Oceania Region, from AV professionals in Hong Kong to technology managers in Australia. Soon we will be kicking off 2015 with an equally ambitious slate of AV industry events, roundtables, trade shows and more, including InfoComm China, 8-10 April 2015 in Beijing.

Keep in touch and let us know what makes you enthusiastic about pro AV where you live and work. InfoComm and its partners will work hard to bring you all the resources we can — and even a little extra, if you need it.

As always, we hope to see you soon.
