InfoComm STEPs Up Sustainability with New Rating System
A draft sustainability rating system for AV and electronic systems will be unveiled at InfoComm 2010. The Sustainable Technology Environments PerformanceSM (STEPSM) rating system is the product of work done by the InfoComm AV Sustainability Task Force. The current draft framework of the STEP rating system will be revealed for input and feedback from the AV community at a free session Friday, June 11, from 10:30 a.m.- noon at InfoComm 2010 in Las Vegas. The session will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in room N252.

ANSI Approves InfoComm AV Systems Design Standard
American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the InfoComm International Board of Directors have released InfoComm's second standard, ANSI/INFOCOMM 2M-2010 Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes. The purpose of this standard is to provide a description of the methods, procedures, tasks, and deliverables typically recommended or applied by professionals in audiovisual (AV) systems design and integration projects. The standard enables clients and other design and construction team members to confidently assess whether the responsible parties are providing the expected services. More

InfoComm Releases New AV Math for Design Online Course
Math is a big part of the exam content outlines for all three certifications. InfoComm now has a new course, DES204 AV Math for Design Online, which covers formulas that apply to the CTS-D exam content outline with a practice workbook to make sure you understand the material. It provides 15 RUs for general and specialized CTS holders. It is the companion course to AV Math Online, which explains formulas that apply to the general CTS exam content outline. More
