EMEA Regional Update

Dear Members,

What can InfoComm International do for your company? We can deliver education anywhere in the world.

It’s been a busy summer despite the heat and holidays here in our region. Several of our members hosted education in their own facilities. AV Media in Prague had two training events. The first InfoComm University™ class was a contract training PMA211 Project Management course in July, which was delivered by Brad Malone, PMP, President of Twin Star Consulting Company and InfoComm faculty member. Also delivered to their employees was a licensed course GEN111 Essentials of AV Technology. This was translated into Czech and delivered in both April and August.

On 28-30 September, Dorier S.A. will be holding a contract course EVS212 Staging and Events Management delivered by André LeJeune, CTS®, InfoComm University Staff Instructor for Dorier in Geneva. Moving forward, van Berge Henegouwen in Amsterdam will host Brad Malone for a presentation of PMA211 Project Management on 3-5 October. If you would like more information about contract training or licensing agreements, please contact Sarah Carless.

The European Council meeting was held in London on 10 September. We had a discussion about the UK Task Force, plans to increase our presence at ISE 2013 and getting more involved in the region. If you would like more information about any of these things, feel free to contact us.

InfoComm Middle East and Africa 2012 is 14-18 October in Dubai. Did you know that at InfoComm MEA:

• Numerous seminars ranging from Understanding & Implementing the ANSI/INFOCOMM 2M-2010 Standard Guide for Audiovisual Systems Design and Coordination Processes to HDCP Encryption and Its Pitfalls are being presented
• Conferences will be held on Education, Hospitality, IT Industry and an IMCCA United Conferencing seminar
• InfoComm members are invited to a special roundtable on Sunday, 14 October in Rooms 6A, 3 p.m.-5:30 p.m., at the show venue, Dubai World Trade Centre. Members may invite a non-member guest. The roundtable discussion will feature the Market Definition & Strategy Survey (MDSS) with information on the Global and Middle East AV Markets. This special event will be followed by a networking function. Register now!

Also starting in October is Integrated Systems Russia, 30 October-1 November in Moscow. This is the 6th ISR and is the top show in Russia for professional AV and electronic systems integration. We are pleased that Mark Valenti, CTS, will be presenting three education seminars at the show:

• Space, Time, & Technology: The Future of AV
• The Emerging Intelligent Building
• InfoComm and the Smart Building Imperative
