GEN111 Essentials of AV Technology
Essentials of AV Technology provides in-depth explanations of the science and technology for basic audio, visual and audiovisual systems integration. A brief overview of the sales, rental/hire, design and installation functions is included in the course content. This course builds the student’s understanding of the fundamentals used on a daily basis in the audiovisual industry.

Who Should Take This Class
- Those new to the AV industry or those who already understand the context of their job and how the industry works, but need to build their technical knowledge.
- Individuals who are preparing for the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist Certificate.
Course Content
- Learn about the fundamentals of light and sound and how they relate to the industry.
- Technology concepts of microphones, loudspeakers, basic networking, cameras and displays are taught, as well as their signal types and signal flow.
- Don't miss the new sections on networking for data and AV, RF, digital and analog signals, customer service lessons, future trends and more.
Time Commitment
This classroom course is three days long, eight hours per day.
