AV/IT/Communications/Entertainment Technology Convergence Creates Synergy, Opportunity
NORTHERN VIRGINIA -- Executives from InfoComm International® and NXTcomm today announced plans to co-locate their tradeshows and conferences, InfoComm and NXTcomm in 2008 and with the intention of co-locating future events. The events will be held in the Las Vegas Convention Center.
InfoComm is the top 50 tradeshow serving the audiovisual and information communications industries. Recently named one of the fastest growing shows by Tradeshow Week Magazine, InfoComm features 800 exhibitors, 28,000 attendees and more than 450,000 net square feet of exhibit space. InfoComm will occupy the North and Central Halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center in 2008 and 2010.
NXTcomm, which will occupy the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in 2008, is the only venue where the business and technology of communications, information and entertainment meet. With more than 450 exhibitors, 200,000 net square feet of exhibit space and more than 100 educational sessions, no other industry forum delivers a more comprehensive view of the convergence of so many growth industries. The inaugural NXTcomm will be held June 18-21, 2007, in Chicago.
Professional audiovisual, IT, communications and entertainment technologies will converge in an unparalleled exposition experience when the two shows meet together. With a projected combined attendance of 50,000 professionals from 100 countries and more than 1,350 exhibitors occupying over 750,000 n.s.f. of exhibits and special events space in 2008, the co-location of InfoComm and NXTcomm will become the must-attend professional communications technology exposition.
Giving attendees of InfoComm and NXTcomm the ability to visit both show floors and engage in valuable training will provide a more robust tradeshow experience. "The long predicted convergence between the worlds of audiovisual, IT, communications and entertainment technologies has occurred, and this co-location provides an ideal opportunity for both shows' exhibitors and attendees," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. "Analog has been largely replaced by digital technologies. Key AV applications such as videoconferencing, digital signage and command-and-control centers are being carried over IT networks. Chief Information Officers and IT directors are now commonly the AV purchasing decision makers."
"Through our relationship with InfoComm, NXTcomm attendees will be able to experience the true convergence of our industries, featuring the entire spectrum of audiovisual, IT, communications and entertainment technologies," said Wayne Crawford, Executive Director, NXTcomm.
InfoComm's attendees include commercial AV service providers (dealers, systems integrators, design consultants, distributors, VARs, reps, programmers, producers and rental and staging (live event) professionals) and institutional technology managers from corporate, education, government, healthcare and the worship markets. NXTcomm's attendees include carrier/service provider personnel, communications vendors, IT-telecomm channel dealers/VARs, reps, producers and enterprise institutional buyers. The opportunity for InfoComm exhibitors to see the NXTcomm's enterprise buyers is an advantage just as NXTcomm's exhibitors will benefit from seeing the application engineers and other personnel of InfoComm's distribution channel attendees. This combined attendance base of the co-located shows will help InfoComm and NXTcomm reach their desired goal of marrying IT/telecommunications infrastructure manufacturers and providers with AV applications.
The co-location of InfoComm and NXTcomm will also allow show organizers to share logistical resources and plan cooperative special events that will benefit exhibitors and attendees of both events. The shows will be marketed both jointly and independently.
InfoComm 07 will be held June 15-21, 2007 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The inaugural NXTcomm will be held June 18-21, 2007 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
