Women in AV Award Presented to Erin Bolton, Pivot Communications and Helen Meyer, Meyer Sound Laboratories, Inc.

By InfoComm International, September 23, 2011

PORTLAND, Ore.  InfoComm International®, the leading professional audiovisual trade association, presented its Women in AV Awards to Erin Bolton, Partner and Strategic Development, Pivot Communications and Helen Meyer, Executive Vice President and Cofounder, Meyer Sound Laboratories, Inc. The awards were presented during the InfoComm 100, a conference designed to bring together the top 100 AV industry thought leaders and volunteers.

Erin Bolton is recognized as an ally to those seeking to understand and sell to IT buyers. Her extensive background, more than 15 years in technology marketing, combined with her direct work in the AV industry for the past eight years, enables her to identify opportunities and aid in narrowing the gap between AV and IT. The programs and strategies Bolton develops for those in the AV industry ensure that independent reps, consultants, manufacturers and integrators become invaluable resources to IT professionals and stay current with technology advancements.

For more than 32 years, Helen Meyer has taken a practical and human approach to building a business environment that supports innovative technology and the community. After experiencing poor audio at a major concert, Meyer, and her husband John, decided to dedicate themselves to inventing new technology and developing a business that would change the live sound market and audience experiences. Although Meyer Sound Laboratories, Inc. is rooted in research and development of advance technologies, Meyer works to expose employees to events that their products are used in so they can see their hard work in action. An active member of the Alameda County Workforce Board, Meyer is also involved with local, regional and international performing arts organizations and festivals.

The Women in AV Award was created by InfoComm to raise awareness of the growing role of female professionals in the male-dominated field of audiovisual technology. These award winners are in the upper echelon of AV professionals and symbolize the strength of entrepreneurship and excellence in technology management.

“Both Erin Bolton and Helen Meyer have reached the pinnacle of achievement in the audiovisual industry,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director and CEO, InfoComm International. “We are indebted to these strong leaders as each continues to advance the industry while mentoring and inspiring the next generation of audiovisual professionals.”
