Call For Presenters InfoComm 2012

Inspire. Promote. Connect.
Are you ready to step onto the presenters' stage for the AV industry? Here's how:

  1. Explore the hot topics, like emerging technologies, to find out how your insights fit into the most-wanted training list.
  2. Stop. Is your proposal product-specific? If so, you want Manufacturer Training opportunities, not InfoComm Academy® training. Contact Laura Reed to start that process. If you have a vendor-neutral training idea, continue to step 3.
  3. Choose the length and difficulty level of your course. See below for guidance.
  4. Look through the Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) job task content areas and zero in on which of these areas your proposal will address.
  5. Submit a proposal, before September 16, 2011, for each of your ideas.

When Do You Get the News?
After you submit your proposal, the InfoComm International Professional Education and Training Committee will review the submittals. You will be notified in January 2012 if you are selected to present at InfoComm 2012, June 9-15, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Design Your Course

If you are selected as a presenter, you will be assigned one of the following types of courses:

  • Institute for Professional Development — 3 day courses
  • Super Tuesday — Half- and full-day courses
  • Workshops and seminars — Courses that range from 90 minutes to 4 hours

Here are InfoComm's guidelines for choosing your course's difficulty level. These audience summaries will help you target your training so that your students can best use what they learn when they go back to work.

Basic

  • Introductory concepts and terms
  • Little or no prior knowledge or hands-on experience necessary

Intermediate

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience
  • Solid working knowledge and vocabulary necessary

Advanced

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience
  • Comprehensive grasp of theory and concepts necessary
  • Already completed significant training
  • Actively working in area or have previously taken intermediate courses
