Message From the Directors

Dear Friends,
We spent a good amount of June in sunny Orlando, Florida, for the big U.S. show, InfoComm 2015. The show was a
great success, with a grand total of 39,105 professionals representing 108 countries around the world. The show
floor, consisting of 950 exhibitors, showcased exciting new technologies.
A lot of our time was spent in the fantastic International Business Centre. It was great to see and connect
with AV professionals who travelled from many different locations to participate in this event.
With InfoComm 2015 behind us, we would like to remind you that there are many other upcoming events that may
interest you. Take a look at the events
happening in your region, including InfoComm India 2015, 1-3 Sept., and get involved. Whether it’s a conference,
roundtable or education session, we hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,

Networked AV Training Returns to India
On 15-17 May, InfoComm University™ held its second Networked AV Systems classroom training session of the
year in India. The course was hosted by Harman Professional in Bangalore and attended by about 20 students.
InfoComm Staff Instructor Rod Brown, CTS®-D, CTS-I, taught students who came from both the AV and IT
industries. Attendees enjoyed an engaging and interactive classroom experience in which they received an in-depth
understanding of the relationship between audiovisual systems and the network.
"The course met my expectations 100 percent,” said one attendee representing ESCO Pte Ltd. "I learned lot."

AV Installers Brush Up on Skills
AV professionals across India have been brushing up on their skills. On 5-6 June, nearly 40 AV installers in
Bangalore displayed their abilities and learned more about their craft at InfoComm’s AV Installation Skills Days,
sponsored by Kramer Electronics. The session was presented by instructor T.S. Gopalakrishnan, CTS, Technical Director
for Highbrow in Hyderabad. The Bangalore courses came just weeks after equally successful AV Installation Days
held in Delhi, 18-19 May.
Students of all the sessions received certificates upon completion. Many attendees encouraged InfoComm to hold longer
installation courses with additional information about fibre-optic cabling and rack building. “The way the instructor
explained things was awesome,” said Digamber Singh Panwar of Savi Vision Pvt. Ltd.

AV Pros in India to Get Certified
With an increased interest in the CTS certification in India, InfoComm held a CTS Prep session
at the Hans Hotel in New Delhi on 21-23 May. A total of 36 students spent three days learning about
strategic ways to prepare for and approach the CTS online exam. The event was sponsored by Biamp
Systems and taught by Staff Instructor Rod Brown, CTS-D, CTS-I, and T.S. Gopalakrishnan, CTS.
The vast majority of students said they planned to take the CTS exam in the coming months. CTS Prep
even attracted technology professionals outside the AV industry. “It may be assumed that big corporate
employers might not be interested in AV technology,” said Kunal Jerath, of consulting firm Accenture. “We
are looking for it. Great job.”
The next stop for CTS Prep in India will be
7-9 July at the
VITS Hotel in Mumbai. Are you interested in getting certified? Approach the exam with confidence.
