Do you know why the InfoComm Councils exist? Reasons range from fostering peer discussion, to conducting research, to shaping the products and services our industry needs. What do you need as a member of the InfoComm Rental & Staging Council? In my conversations with members and non-members, their top interest or concern is that they have proper representation within the association. They're looking for a louder voice in shaping what happens at InfoComm so we can all address the issues that are most pressing to our industry, such as talent acquisition and development, labor management and staying abreast of trends in the events market. And I think the Rental & Staging Council has never been in a better place to make its voice heard. Unfortunately, it's hard to do so with few voices making noise.
As Council Chair, I do my best to listen to you when we meet at industry events or hold monthly calls, but without a unified front, we will continue to live in a back corner of the annual event. I can't emphasize enough the importance of speaking up via InfoComm's online community forum, attending events and having conversations with peers, reaching out to InfoComm leadership with ideas for the council, lending your suggestions to the annual Rental & Staging Forum, and joining us for our monthly council calls. I promise, we won't take more than an hour of your time, but the input you provide is invaluable. Please join us the second Friday of every month and learn what we're trying to achieve. You'll be impressed by this incredible group of people that's working to shape the future of our industry.

InfoComm China Sets New Records
In what is one of the world's fastest-growing markets for AV products and services, according to InfoComm's 2012 Global Market Definition and Strategy Study, last week's InfoComm China show in Beijing drew record crowds. "We are thrilled by this year's success, as it once again proved companies in China are recognizing the importance of pro AV in providing a competitive edge to their businesses," said Richard Tan, General Manager for show organizer InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd. "The potential for sustainable growth in the Chinese AV market is enormous, and through InfoComm China, our exhibitors will share their expertise of the application of pro-AV technology and innovations to help more companies achieve breakthroughs in their businesses."
