Lemke, Ph.D., the Executive Director and CEO of InfoComm International® since 2000, announced his planned retirement at the end of 2012, capping off 16 years of service to the commercial audiovisual association.  New Rental & Staging Council Chair Named

InfoComm has appointed Dan Andrews, CTS, of J.P. Lilley & Son to be chair of the Rental & Staging Council for 2012. Andrews takes over for departing chair Janne Mummert of Video Equipment Rentals. The councils are networking groups that give members an opportunity to pursue common goals based on their specific industry segment or interest.

InfoComm and IATSE Form Education Pact

InfoComm and IATSE, the international union for the stagecraft, motion picture and television production, and trade show industries, have partnered to offer a certification preparation program for IATSE members. IATSE now has pre-paid access to online classes that lead to documentation as an InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist, an entry-level position. Plus, IATSE will sponsor four three-day classroom sessions per year, presented by InfoComm instructors, in preparation for examination as a Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®).
