Get Ready: BYOD or Bust

Within a few short years, half of all employers will formally welcome employees to use their personal mobile devices on the job (saves them money on smartphones and laptops, after all). It will be up to technology specialists (you?) to make sure all those devices can get on a network, join a videoconference or just beam content to a presentation system. Keep these things in mind, for starters.

Don't Let This Happen to You

Do you know how loud is too loud? Listen Technologies' Cory Schaeffer does.

The Digital Signage Presentation Stage, sponsored by Marshall Electronics, Multi-Media Solutions and Samsung, brings you more than 25 sessions over three days, from Delivering Great User Experiences to Emergency Notification.  PAMA Reports Microphone Sales on the Rise

The Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance (PAMA) recently completed a study on microphone sales. Findings show that over the past few years, the professional microphone industry has steadily rebounded from the global recession. During 2012, shipments for all microphones were up 3 percent compared to pre-recession levels in 2008. Sales of wireless products are growing at a faster pace than wired and now account for 35 percent of the total, up from 30 percent in 2008. Shipments are tracked in several regions throughout the world, including Canada, China, Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Latin America, the United Kingdom and the United States.

PAMA thanks the following companies for reporting their shipments as part of the PAMA Microphone Program: Audio-Technica, AKG, Electro-Voice, Neumann, Sennheiser, Shure, Sony and Telex / Electro-Voice. Questions on this or other PAMA activities? Contact PAMA Executive Director Duffy Wilbert.
