InfoComm Members Raise $125,000 for Michael Vergauwen Education Fund
InfoComm International reports that $125,000 in pledges and contributions have been made to the Michael Vergauwen Education Fund since it was created June 20, 2009, and the association has set a new goal of $200,000 for the fund.
“The industry’s support of this fund is heartening,” said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. “Thanks to our donors, Michael Vergauwen’s commitment to growing and improving the AV industry will live on through scholarships and other important industry-building activities.” More

AV Week Idea 4
Movie Night: Host a movie night at your workplace and invite your employees, their families and their friends. You can also invite potential clients and their families. Rent a fun family oriented movie and make a night of it. All you need is a projector and a sound system and maybe some refreshments. You can play some games before the movie starts, have a BBQ or Pot Luck. Also plan an AV related competition or trivia contest for prizes.

CTS Exam Fees Reimbursed by Veterans Administration
All three CTS exam fees (CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I) are now approved for reimbursement by the Veterans Administration. A new VA benefit pays the cost of certain approved licenses and certifications. You can complete and submit the VA Form 22-1990 online or you can go to www.gibill.va.gov and click on Electronic Application. You can also print the form from www.gibill.va.gov , or call 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) and request the form. Be sure to pass the word along to anyone you know who may qualify for this benefit.
Certification Committee Issues Call for Candidates

InAVation Awards 2010: Call for Entries
The annual EMEA InAVation Awards celebrate the best and brightest professional AV projects and technologies from around the world. The 2010 winners will be announced at the annual awards ceremony at the RAI Auditorium on 3 February 2010.
The fourth annual EMEA InAVation Awards entry deadline is fast approaching. You still have the opportunity to submit entries for both the technology and project categories. The technology entry deadline is 18:00 (CET) 1 October 2009 and the project entry deadline is 18:00 (CET) 6 November 2009.
