Economic Snapshot Results Revealed
InfoComm's October 2011 Economic Snapshot Survey indicates that the market is stable, but not quite as rosy as AV dealers and design consultants predicted. The most recent InfoComm Performance Index (IPI) is 68.0, indicating that the AV industry has experienced sustained stability for the past six months. However, technology managers indicate a more conservative approach toward spending in the near future.

AV Week Tip #5: Give back
AV Week is the perfect opportunity to launch a charitable giving program for your office. There are numerous charities that benefit sight and sound, the senses we stimulate through AV technology. Pick one and make a donation of time and resources. It's a great way to network, create good will and involve your employees to do good works. Why not go green during AV Week? Host an e-recycle drive and encourage disposing of electronics in a safe manner.

AV Week Scavenger Hunt Tests Your InfoComm Knowledge
Each week day during AV Week (October 16-22) @InfoComm will tweet three AV trivia questions. Search the InfoComm website for the correct answer. The first person to respond with the correct answer will win a $25 Amazon gift card. Tweet your answer and include the hashtag #AVSH or email your answer. Read the complete rules and information.

Give Us Your Best Shot!
Where in the world has your InfoComm gear been? InfoComm is accepting submissions of your best photos and videos featuring you and/or your colleagues sporting your favorite gear with the InfoComm logo.

Submit your photos and videos via twitpic.com or your favorite twitter media sharing application now through October 7 and include the hashtag #AVPIC in your post. Christopher Maione Associates (CMA) working with Project Green AV (PGAV) and Global Electronics Recycling (GER) has developed a program for recycling old AV systems and equipment. This program will be made available to all InfoComm members.

In an effort to make green initiatives easy and cost effective for the audiovisual industry, CMA has arranged for discarded AV systems and equipment to be picked up at no cost and taken to one of GER's facilities. The AV equipment is then "processed" where raw materials are recovered. More
