Dennis Paoletti and Jennifer Willard Present at AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice
InfoComm standards topics were presented to the American Institute of Architects (AIA) regional meeting of the Academy of Architecture for Justice at their quarterly event. The program was held at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, on Sept. 23. The half-day conference addressed the impact of changing technologies and legal practices on the functional, operational and security issues of courtroom design. Jennifer Willard, CTS, of the California Administrative Office of the Courts and Joe Bocchiaro, CTS-D, CTS-I, of InfoComm Standards and Best Practices presented the topic Courtroom Technology Challenges to the 175 participants. Dennis Paoletti of Shen Milsom and Wilke, a Fellow of both the AIA and the ASA, was an event organizer. Other presenters included presiding judges, senior staff from the Administrative Office of the Courts, and architects.

Polycom Aids in Standard Testing
Polycom recently hosted three telepresence and videoconference meetings for the standards task group that is jointly developing the videoconferencing lighting standard with the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). Polycom technicians facilitated the meeting and participated in all-day measurement and testing at their offices in Atlanta, New York and Herndon, VA. InfoComm extends special thanks to Jim Smith, CTS, for leading this initiative. Testing conformance measurements is a critical part of standards development. InfoComm is grateful for the generosity of members like Polycom and the participation of all of its volunteers in this industry-changing mission.
