Last Chance: Install School is Here
Are you thinking of testing for your CTS-I credential? Then you should take part in
CTS-I Prep, 2-4 December in Hemel Hempstead,
U.K. As with InfoComm’s decision to offer Design Boot Camp earlier this year, bringing CTS-I Prep to Europe is in direct response
to members who wanted a way to prepare for CTS-I exams in the U.K. and Continental Europe. InfoComm offers three installation courses online that
you might want to take before the three-day CTS-I Prep course.

InfoComm University™ is taking its updated course
Staging and Events Management to the banks
of the River Thames. The Royal College of Surgeons will host the three-day training, 7-9 January 2015, which will feature Staff Instructor
Andre LeJeune, CTS®, detailing the ins and outs of putting on an event. The course is open to AV technicians, rental and staging
professionals, event organizers, and technology managers tasked with supporting live events. Learn how effective pre-show planning can
make for a smooth show. Register today. |
Heed the advice of Jarrett Dartnall, CTS, senior engineer at Pyramid, who was the first person to pass the CTS exam at Integrated Systems
Europe (ISE) 2014 in Amsterdam. Dartnall said it was great to combine the exam with the show because after his test, he was able to relax
as he explored all the new technology. "I decided to earn my CTS because more and more of our clients are requesting it to be part of our
company portfolio," he said.
InfoComm International will be offering CTS, CTS-D and CTS-I exams at ISE 2015 in Amsterdam, 10-12 February 2015.

Nearly 100 professionals attended InfoComm's University Days in London and Cardiff. The Cardiff event drew participants to the
Thistle Cardiff City Centre, while the London University Day took place on-board the HMS Belfast, a spectacular setting to
brush up on the latest AV technologies and best practices. Attendees praised the informational presentations and shared industry
stories at the networking reception. Thanks to sponsors Canon and Audio-Technica for their support. |
Join InfoComm as we celebrate the past year and look forward to the next. We will be hosting a networking event in London, 12 December,
from 17:00 to 19:30, at the famous Glassblower in Piccadilly. The event will be an opportunity to meet other AV professionals, get to
know each other better and catch up with old friends. It is open to InfoComm members and non-members alike. To RSVP, send an email
to scarless@infocomm.org or visit us on the web. |
Do you have a compelling AV case study you'd like people to know about? InfoComm is looking for a few exceptional AV experiences to
share with the AV industry and beyond.
Have you employed InfoComm standards? Did you design or integrate an AV system that exceeded your client's expectations? InfoComm
would love to hear what you've been working on, and if we select your project, we'll write it up — you just have to tell us what
made it great!
If you'd like InfoComm to profile your exceptional AV experience,
send an email to exceptional@infocomm.org. Give us a few details, like what the project was, the AV solutions involved and where it was
installed. We'll look over all the submissions and select a variety. But we can't choose yours unless you tell us about it. Email details
to exceptional@infocomm.org. |

Dear Friends,
As you will notice from this Update, there are still quite a few InfoComm International® events taking place in the U.K. before we turn
the calendar and embark on a new year. But we also want to highlight some of the exciting AV industry experiences throughout Continental
Europe over the past month.
InfoComm first took part in the Smart Building Conference
in Berlin, where our own Godwin Demicoli, CTS®, joined other presenters to discuss trends in smart buildings and the future of building control.
From there, it was off to Madrid for an InfoComm Roundtable focused on the association's educational offerings in Spain and the future of the AV
industry there. Then we stopped by the Systems Integration Experience Community (SIEC) Conference in Milan, where Godwin presented results from
InfoComm's European Market Definition and Strategy Study.
Overall, the AV industry throughout the Europe, Middle East & Africa regional enjoyed a successful 2014. In addition to the great events
already mentioned, InfoComm Middle East & Africa 2014, held this past
October in Dubai, was bigger and better than ever, with more AV companies showing new products and more AV professionals visiting booths and
engaging in education. We look forward to being back next year.
We wish everyone a happy, healthy, fruitful 2015. And as always, we hope to see you at an InfoComm event soon.
Sincerely,
|
