Smart Building Conference 2013
Was a Success

The second Smart Building Conference, a joint venture of InfoComm International and CEDIA, held in London on 25 Oct., drew a sellout
crowd. After the keynote presentations, the conference divided into parallel tracks from Matt Dodd of CEDIA and Allen Weidman of
InfoComm. Delegates had the opportunity to hear from 20 speakers with sessions on the commercial and residential building markets.
Rick Holland of the Technology Strategy Board spoke about funding from the U.K. government. Mike Blackman of Integrated Systems Europe
concluded the day by informing attendees of the next Smart Building Conference in Amsterdam on 3 Feb., the day before ISE 2014 opens.

Loudspeaker systems are almost everywhere. One of the essentials for a good performance is ensuring the correct electrical impedance both
in design and installation. Beginning with a review of basic circuit theory to ensure everyone has the necessary foundation, we will explore
the different ways of connecting loudspeakers into a system, where and why to use each one, and how to calculate and confirm the desired
impedance of a system. The principles of how a constant voltage system works, its benefits and drawbacks (and what the term means!) will be revealed.
