Another Thrilling Integrate Show Wraps Up
Organizers lowered the curtain on Integrate 2014 in association with InfoComm
International®. The event was held at Sydney Olympic Park. It moves to the Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre in 2015. Attendees
at this year's event got a glimpse at more than 130 new products and met over 30 first-time exhibitors.
As in previous years, InfoComm training was front-and-center during the event. Courses included Technology in Collaborative Learning Spaces — Flipping the Classroom;
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) — Challenges and Applications; and Room and Spatial Planning for AV Systems. During the show,
InfoComm came to an agreement with AMX Australia to offer InfoComm's networking
courses through the end of 2015.
Australian Design Firm Keeps Industry APEx in Sight
InDesign Technologies, with offices in Queensland and New South Wales
(and a Sydney office opening soon), has indicated its intention to become an
AV Provider of Excellence. InfoComm's APEx program
recognizes AV integration companies and design consulting firms that are dedicated to providing quality service to customers and upholding
industry excellence.
"We're always looking for ways to demonstrate to our clients the emphasis we place on quality and the sheer level of detail we go to ensure a
fantastic end result," said Peter Coman, the firm's managing director. "Having an industry body program that recognizes this commitment to
excellence is exactly what this industry needs. The fact that InfoComm will be marketing APEx to our potential clients is fantastic; it will
ensure that our company stands out as a quality provider."
Coman said that it should take InDesign Technologies about six months to qualify for APEx recognition. "At first I thought it was going to be a
difficult process just to qualify," he said, "but the requirements are not unreasonable and neither is the cost. We have always prioritized
training and education in our business."

Message From the Directors

Dear Friends,
It is a busy time of year for InfoComm in the Asia and Oceania region of the world. Although the conclusion of the highly successful
Integrate show in Sydney may seem like a chance to relax, it's really
among the first of several events to attract dedicated AV professionals from this part of the globe, where the industry continues to grow.
AV is truly an international industry. And according to InfoComm's recently released
Market Definition and Strategy Study,
it will be a $114 billion (U.S.) global industry by 2016. So it makes sense to get involved on a global scale. Mark your calendars for
InfoComm India in Mumbai, 17-19 September;
InfoComm Middle East & Africa in Dubai, 13-16 October; and
Integrated Systems Russia in Moscow, 29-31
October. (And if you are a serious long-term planner, InfoComm China 2015
is on the calendar for 8-10 April 2015.) Each offers a unique opportunity to enjoy cutting-edge training, exposure to new technology and
the chance to share experiences with AV professionals like you.
As always, we hope to see you soon.
Sincerely,
|

InfoComm recently completed an eight-city tour of India, with stops in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kolkata, New Delhi and Pune.
Attendees learned about InfoComm education, member services, including the new
AV Provider of Excellence program, and exciting opportunities
for InfoComm India 2014, to be held 17-19 September in Mumbai.
At a well-attended roundtable event in Chennai, India Country Manager Gaurab Majumdar discussed upcoming InfoComm courses offered in Hindi and underscored
the need for continuing education in light of the government's "digitalization" initiative. Mr. Majumdar then took the message to a networking event in
Hyderabad, where representatives of InfoComm members Godrej, PeopleLink HD Video Conferencing & Telepresence and Highbrow Production Services Ltd.
presented on trends in AV, live events and industry certification.
Next stop: Mumbai.
