University Day in Jakarta Welcomed Over 70 People

The InfoComm University™ Day in Jakarta was held 16 Dec. 2013 at the Pullman Hotel. More than 70 attendees participated at this event. The half-day session started with a welcome address and an InfoComm International® update by Andy Tan, CTS®, followed by three presentations sharing industry technology updates and trends. Attendees were pleased to learn and network and look forward to InfoComm arranging more of such activities.

Lunch was served and an afternoon break with networking was arranged. Attendees are keen to listen to updates and trends but with technical details kept minimal. Many attendees agreed that this was a great event:

Seminar 1: AV/IT Trends in the Enterprise Space
Speaker: Eileen Lim, CTS — Kramer Electronics Asia
Lim's presentation discussed the technology that is affecting AV business and social trends.

Seminar 2: Ultra HD & 6G-SDI
Speaker: Roger Yap, Regional Sales Manager, Blackmagic Design
Yap shared his presentation on what the company is and why it does what it does. Also, he spoke on their entire ecosystem of Ultra HD products, from capture to distribution to storage, as well as the convenience of 6G-SDI.

Seminar 3: Meeting the Demand From Small Discussion Systems to Large Conferencing Solutions
Speaker: Kim M. Jurgensen, Business Development Manager, Shure Asia Ltd
Jurgensen presented what is available for various installation environments from simple talk, discussion to fully integrated conferencing solutions. The presentation also covered how Shure is eyeing and listening to the ever changing demand in the installation market for conferencing products and solutions.

Sponsors were very pleased with the overwhelming turnout. Attendees were from the AV trade, technology managers from the broadcast sector as well as distributors, manufacturers, lighting and rental folks.
