A Successful Networking Day in Manila
InfoComm International held a member development and networking day on 12 March in Manila. Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and sponsored by
RGB Spectrum, the afternoon event attracted a healthy turnout of about 55 participants from 20 companies and groups in the AV industry. In
attendance were distributors, systems integrators, manufacturers, consultants and house of worship specialists.
Andy Tan, CTS®, InfoComm Regional Director for Asia, kicked off the event with a presentation about the association and its goals,
including what it means to create an exceptional AV experience for customers. He was followed by Thomas Prakasam, Publisher of Systems
Integration Asia magazine, who discussed recent survey reports and trends, with a special emphasis on the influence of information and
communications technology and the Internet of things on professional AV.
Bill Zhu from RGB Spectrum spoke about trends in video processors and videowall configurations. The event concluded with high tea
and a chance for guests to network. "I am very pleased with the turnout and there was genuine interest in what RGB has to offer," said Mr.
Zhu. "To me this event was very successful as it is my first time to the Philippines and it enabled me to meet up with different groups of
people and I already have appointments for the coming days."

Leveraging AV Technology for India's Digital Future
On 18 Feb., InfoComm hosted a successful roundtable at My Fortune Hotel in Chennai. The event started with a welcome address from InfoComm
India Country Manager Gaurab Majumdar, who discussed InfoComm activities in India and highlighted the growth of the AV industry in that country.
A total of 65 delegates attended the event and participated actively in the discussion. The sessions were interactive, with attendees particularly
interested in CTS certification
opportunities and upcoming training. Representatives of government agencies discussed a shortage of AV skills training in South India. Coincidentally,
InfoComm announced CTS Prep classroom training in Chennai, coming in November.
Among the presentations, Mr. M. Sivakumar, CEO of the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu
(an initiative of the government of India and Tamil Nadu), highlighted the role of the center in promoting digitalization at universities, colleges and
schools and the importance of AV technology. Special thanks to the United States Consulate in Chennai for their support. |
