Learning Opportunities in the Next Few Months
We are pleased to invite you to an InfoComm Academy® Day in Hong Kong on Wednesday, 15 September 2010! The InfoComm Academy Day is an event designed to provide seminar-based education and networking. The seminar is targeted to the technical workforce within local AV companies. Designers, programmers, installers, account representatives, project managers, sales force, technology managers, certified and non-certified staff will enjoy a day of education. There will be four 90-minute technical seminars presented by Barco Ltd, Biamp Systems, Christie Digital Systems and Principle One Ltd.
Applied Design Course
For those who plan to attend or continue with the Design series track, save the date for 4-6 October in Kuala Lumpur and 18-20 October in Mumbai. A three-day course, DES312 Applied AV Design with a comprehensive application of design best practices, will be taught in both these cities. Students will work through the complete design process from beginning (conducting a needs analysis) to end (complete design package). DES312 focuses on how to determine and analyze the needs of the clients, collaborate with other professionals, develop AV designs and conduct project implementation activities. This course blends instructor-led training, collaborative group work and peer-to-peer learning. DES312 Applied AV Design follows the CTS-D exam content outline.
InfoComm Asia
In conjunction with the InfoComm Asia trade exhibition on 17-19 November 2010, AV practitioners (dealers, distributors, systems designers and integrators) and professional end-users (from all industry sectors, including corporate, education, retail, entertainment, hospitality, worship, leisure, OOH media, building, transportation, government and security) can experience a week of learning opportunities from industry experts. They will share their insights on AV technologies, systems and solutions. You will find opportunities to keep abreast with industry and technology developments at InfoComm Asia 2010 — Asia’s largest technology event for information communications and systems integration.

CTS Exam Prep
A CTS Prep Course will be held in Hong Kong on 15-17 November 2010, a day prior to InfoComm Asia 2010. Anyone considering taking the CTS exam and CTS holders intending to acquire renewal units for their certification renewal are welcome to register. InfoComm Academy is pleased to offer this preparatory course to help members and non-members as they study for InfoComm’s Certified Technology Specialist (CTS®) credential. This credential is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Schemes of Persons program.
This popular course provides a forum for people to explore the exam format and work collaboratively, studying the exam content areas with the help of facilitators. The study group provides an extensive study reference work. Students will also receive a copy of InfoComm’s publications, Audiovisual Best Practices: The Design and Integration Process for the AV and Construction Industry and AV Setup Guide for Events, Meetings, Conferences, and Classrooms. For those who intend to acquire renewal units for their certification renewal, this course carries 24 renewal units. Also near you, there are many upcoming courses available over the next few months.
