A Message from Regional Director Jonathan Seller
Dear InfoComm Members,
I’d like to start this month’s newsletter by welcoming Gracie Chiu to InfoComm as our new Asia-Pacific Program Coordinator. Gracie is based in Hong Kong and will provide support to both Andy Tan, CTS, Regional Director Asia and myself as we increase our service and support to InfoComm International® members in the region.
Born in Hong Kong, Gracie moved to Australia with her family as a child and lived in Brisbane where she attended Griffith University to complete her degree. Gracie moved back to Hong Kong four years ago but travels back to Australia from time to time to visit family and friends.
Gracie’s first official function with InfoComm was to attend Integrate 2010 in Sydney, where she helped staff the InfoComm booth. She enjoyed the opportunity of getting to meet so many of the Australian members on day one in the new role.
Gracie can be contacted through our new Asia-Pacific Regional Office at:
Shui On Plaza
2/F Shui On Centre
6-8 Harbour Road, Wanchai
Hong Kong
Gracie can be contacted by email for our Asian Region members at asia@infocomm.org and our Oceania Region members at oceania@infocomm.org, by Skype at infocommasiapacific, or by phone on +852.8171.3101.
The Integrate 2010 Expo was a fantastic show, and we’d like to thank all those members and guests who visited the InfoComm booth, attended the InfoComm Super Tuesday program or attended the member networking function. We understand the show is a busy time for everyone and we appreciate your spending some time with us. We look forward to the 2011 show, which will bear our name alongside that of Integrate, and to increasing our presence at the show along with more InfoComm Academy® offerings. The feedback from the team at Integrate has been that exhibitors and visitors alike were very happy with the 2010 event and that most look forward to returning next year to Moore Park, Sydney, for “Integrate in association with InfoComm International” from 30 August to 1 September 2011.
Our fourth round of InfoComm Academy Virtual Classroom courses for 2010 will begin on 25 October with DES315 CTS-D Prep and GEN113 CTS Prep classes being run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. AEST and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Singapore/Hong Kong local time, respectively. These classes are limited to 24 people, so don’t miss out. You can register online in the InfoComm Store or by contacting Gracie Chiu.
As Andy Tan pointed out in last month’s update, the InfoComm Asia show is just around the corner. Richard Tan and his team have been working hard to build a great event. There will also be a strong InfoComm Academy educational program at the show. There is too much information about the show to share with you in this newsletter, but you can get it all by visiting the InfoComm Asia show website. If you conduct business anywhere in the Asia-Pacific region, this is a “must attend” event for you.
If you have any further questions about any of the information provided in this update, please don’t hesitate to contact either myself or Andy Tan, CTS.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Seller, CTS Regional Director, Oceania Region
