Best Overall Staging for a Corporate or Association Event - Technology Budget Over $200,000

Co-Winners:
AVW-TELAV - International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 37th Convention and Expo
LMG, Incorporated - Rite Aid Annual Conference

AVW-TELAV for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 37th Convention and Expo:
The technology used in the General Assembly made a definitive statement to IBEW's members that the organization is on the move by displaying dazzling widescreen graphics, a technologically-driven stage and dais, and a custom-designed, live interactive video conference system on the assembly floor.

Because the delegates were a football field away from the president, who wanted to have eye-to-eye contact with the audience members posing questions and comments, AVW-TELAV installed 15 kiosks throughout the hall.  Each kiosk featured a built-in screen, sound reinforcement, and robotic video camera. A closed circuit feed sent the image to one of 15 screens built into the president's lectern. The president, who controlled the audio and video for each screen, could then interact with his constituents.

LMG, Incorporated, for the Rite Aid Annual Conference:
Held at the Anaheim Convention Center, the event was themed "Success Is in Your Hands." AVMG, working with Corporate Magic, looked to LMG to implement a never-been-done concept to captivate attendees and keep them in close proximity to the presenters.

The concept called for two skateboard-style ramps - one on stage left and one on stage right. Each 90-ft. wide vertical structure was composed of five screens. The ramps were capped by a horizontal marquee, with a balloon-like sphere suspended below the marquee.  his innovative idea was brought to fruition by the application of recently available technology to achieve vertical-edge blending.
