ANAHEIM, Calif. -- InfoComm International®, the premier professional audiovisual trade association presented its Distinguished Achievement Award to Scott Miller during InfoComm's annual AV Awards Ceremony. The event took place at InfoComm 07, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow worldwide, held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.
Scott Miller is Chief Executive Officer and President of ATERAS, a provider of fully automated legacy migration solutions. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer and President of ATERAS, Miller was the Chairman and CEO of AMX Corporation. Miller founded AMX in 1982 and took the company public in 1995. He left the company in 1998 but rejoined in 2001 as a turnaround strategist. He rebuilt the company and in the spring of 2005 sold his interest when the company was taken private.
A native of Vermont, Miller gained his electronic know-how while serving in the Air Force, and later worked with Geophysical Engineers, Linear Corporation and Pavco Electronics before branching out to form AMX. Miller is known for his leadership, vision and energy.
InfoComm's Distinguished Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed on an industry member by the association. "When the InfoComm Board of Governors considers honoring a member with the Distinguished Achievement Award, two major criteria are applied - the career accomplishments of an individual, and the individual's contribution to the AV industry," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. "Scott Miller is a true visionary in the field of AV who changed the way the world thinks about control systems and we are proud to recognize his significant achievements."
The AV Awards Ceremony is co-sponsored by ARCHI-TECH magazine, Plasa's Lighting&Sound America and NewBay Media's Rental & Staging Systems and Systems Contractor News magazines.
