Paul Depperschmidt named InfoComm 07 Educator of the Year

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- InfoComm International®, the premier professional audiovisual trade association, presented its Educator of the Year Award to Paul Depperschmidt, CTS®, during InfoComm's annual AV Awards Ceremony. The event took place at InfoComm 07, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow worldwide, held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

Paul Depperschmidt, CTS, is the Director of AV Integration Channels for Polycom, a world leader in video/voice collaborative conferencing products. His background in the AV industry includes many years as a systems sales specialist for Pro Line Video in Austin, Texas, and VP of Sales for Technical Industries in Atlanta. Depperschmidt has also worked for Panasonic BTSC, Faroudja Laboratories and ASPI Digital in sales, marketing and management capacities. He served many years as the chair of the InfoComm Conference Subcommittee of the Professional Education and Training Committee, during which time he debuted the "Super Tuesday" programs and facilitated its Technology Trends program. He was also instrumental in expanding the InfoComm Conference program to over 7,000 registrations in 2006. Depperschmidt currently serves on the PETC Steering Committee.

The Educator of the Year Award is nominated by InfoComm's Professional Education and Training Committee (PETC) and selected by the InfoComm Board of Governors, to honor an individual who works to develop the skills and knowledge of others in the AV industry. Past Educators of the Year include John Campanella, CTS-D; Roy A. Hermanson, Jr., CTS-D, CTS-I; Mario Maltese, CTS-D, CTS-I; and Gary Kayye, CTS.
