Draper Shows Expanded Controls & Motor Options at InfoComm

Draper, Inc., has announced the addition of new controls and motor options for motorized projection screens. In addition to external network communication via RS232, dry contact, infrared remote control and other input devices to control the screen - Draper now offers screens with much of this capability built into the motor. The new motors with built-in low voltage controllers allow remote control capabilities without the need to add on external pieces-and without adding to the length of the screen case.

Draper also now offers quiet motors and quiet motors with built-in low voltage controllers on several screen models. Quiet motors reduce the noise of motor operation by up to 30 percent.

The new options were announced with the release of the company's 2007 price list, and will be exhibited at Draper's InfoComm 2007 booth. For a demonstration of the new motors and controls, stop by booth 4429 at InfoComm 2007, June 19-21 in Anaheim, California, or visit www.draperinc.com.

Draper to Initiate Ambient Light Research

SPICELAND, Ind. -- Draper, Inc., a leading projection screen manufacturer, has announced it plans to work with HP on research methodologies to improve projection screens, including addressing issues such as the negative affect of ambient light on the customer viewing experience.

Draper’s extensive background in the design and production of projection screens and surfaces will be complemented by HP’s expertise in image science and imaging optics.

“Ambient light is one of the key factors affecting the viewing experience,” according to Draper company president John Pidgeon. “By joining with HP to conduct this research, we hope to provide the industry with more scientific knowledge about the behavior of ambient light and its true impact on projection.”
