dnp Supernova™Screens Receive Image Science Foundation (ISF) Certification
dnp Showcases Supernova™Flex Screen at InfoComm 2007
COSTA MESA, Calif. -- dnp, the world's leading supplier of optical projection screen technology has revolutionized the industry with the Supernova Screen, the first-ever optical front projection screen that allows viewing in brightly lit environments. The groundbreaking Supernova Flex Screen is a retractable, motorized version that blends effortlessly into any environment and disappears into a stylish wall mounted enclosure when not in use. Setting new standards in front projection, the Supernova Flex Screen delivers the ultimate widescreen experience outside of the confines of a traditional dark room. The Supernova Flex Screen will be displayed at InfoComm in booth # 4836.
Like the fixed Supernova One Screen, the Supernova Flex Screen delivers up to ten times higher contrast than standard front screens. And since the entire screen is retractable, it combines the outstanding Supernova image quality with a discreet and stylish presence perfect for viewing in any setting. The technology used to develop Supernova is based on a revolutionary high-contrast filter that allows the projected image to be reflected from the screen, effectively absorbing incident light from other angles such as windows and room lighting. As a result, the screen is virtually unaffected by ambient light.
“The Supernova Flex Screen offers the best of both worlds,” stated Manfred Freiberger, senior account manager for dnp USA. “It provides the superior image quality of optical rear projection with front screens’ minimal space requirements and ease of installation.”
dnp’s Supernova Flex Screen opens vast new opportunities for display solutions in environments with ambient light such as living rooms, boardrooms, and retail applications. At the push of a button, a fast motor allows the screen to drop down and retract into its elegant housing. The cover of the wall mounted enclosure is removable and replaceable, and offered in a variety of beautiful options including black, white, silver-grey aluminum, blond maple and cherry wood. The cover is also available in a special stainable surface that can be painted to match any décor.
Among the finest screens in the market, the dnp Supernova Flex Screen material has recently been certified by the Imaging Science Foundation™(ISF) for its outstanding image quality. This means the product exceeds the high-standard benchmarks that define the best video performance available for consumers. With a half gain of 82 degrees, the widest in the industry, this screen provides full 180 degrees of viewing. The Supernova Flex Screen combines neutral color reproduction and uniform image quality with extremely high contrast ratios and superior black levels.
Compatible with all standard projectors, the dnp Supernova Flex Screen is now available in 4:3, 16:9 and Cinemascope formats in sizes up to 100". dnp’s Supernova Screens provide an unparalleled widescreen viewing experience surpassing that of a flat panel display.
During InfoComm 2007, the Supernova Flex will be demonstrated at dnp booth # 4836. dnp will also showcase other products from the award winning Supernova line such as the fixed Supernova One Screen, the tiled Supernova Infinity and the portable Supernova Mobile Screen. dnp will also be featuring three high-end rear projection screens for meeting and control rooms; dnp’s new Wide Angle Screen, dnp Sigma Screen™and dnp Giant Wide Angle Screen.

dnp Unveils Supernova™Mobile Screen
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- dnp, the world's leading supplier of optical projection screen technology has recently revolutionized the industry with the Supernova Screen, the first-ever optical front projection screen that allows viewing in brightly lit environments. The new dnp Supernova Mobile Screen is the portable evolution of the award winning Supernova Screen family. The Supernova Mobile is ideal for presentations on the go. This advanced optical front projection screen is quick to set up and conveniently rolls back into its lightweight metal case for easy transport and storage. Exceptionally high-contrast, vivid images in a handy, portable format, make the Supernova Mobile perfect for situations where viewing locations and conditions change.
“Contrast is what gives a picture depth, nuance, atmosphere,” stated Manfred Freiberger, senior account manager for dnp USA. “With Supernova Mobile you get up to 10 times more contrast. And since optical screens filter out unwanted reflections, dnp can deliver this quality even in broad daylight. Finally, no more darkened rooms or yawning audiences due to low lighting in a room.”
For the first time ever, the Supernova Mobile allows presentations to be performed with the lights on, where speakers are free to maintain eye contact with the audience. This allows them to read their facial expressions for instance, or clarify a point by quickly drawing on a whiteboard, hold up a product sample for the group to see, and keep every viewer captivated.
The Supernova Mobile was created by applying the award-winning Supernova Screen surface to an ultra-thin yet durable polymer backing. The backing material resists light from behind and also serves as an attractive frame around the image area.
The Supernova Mobile delivers up to ten times higher contrast than standard front screens. The technology used to develop Supernova is based on a revolutionary high-contrast filter that allows the projected image to be reflected from the screen, effectively absorbing incident light from other angles such as windows and room lighting. As a result, the screen is virtually unaffected by ambient light. Supreme black levels are balanced with an ergonomic brightness level to create vivid images with full color saturation to prevent eyestrain regardless of viewing position.
Complete with foldable supports to mount the screen either on a table or floor (depending on the screen size) and a metal case for storage, the Supernova Mobile can easily be taken along for use in various locations. It fits into a car and is ideal for the travelling sales rep. After unfolding the built-in supports, the smaller 40” screen unrolls horizontally and stands on a table. The larger 80” screen is unrolled vertically and stands on the floor. Supernova Mobile is intended for use with a table-mounted projector.
During the upcoming audio/visual tradeshow, InfoComm 2007, June 19-21, 2007 in Anaheim, California, the Supernova Mobile will be featured at dnp booth # 4836. dnp will also showcase other products from the award winning Supernova line such as the fixed Supernova One Screen, the tiled Supernova Infinity and the
retractable Supernova Flex. dnp will also showcase three high-end rear projection screens for meeting and control rooms; dnp’s new Wide Angle Screen, dnp Sigma Screen™and dnp Giant Wide Angle Screen.
