SPICELAND, Ind. --  The “green” movement is coming to InfoComm 07. During the 2007 InfoComm trade show, Draper, Inc. is presenting a basic class on the so-called “green” market.

The course is intended to give an introduction into the Green Building market, and will be led by Draper Green Building Coordinator Clint Childress.

“As people, organizations and companies have placed more AV items in their homes and buildings, we’re seeing a rise in the amount of power consumption by electrical devices,” according to Childress. “That, combined with the fact that many countries and even some states are now looking at legislation to outlaw certain non-sustainable substances in electronics, means this issue has become more than just another buzzword.”

In addition, new opportunities are being created as building owners and architects focus on designing and building sustainable, energy efficient buildings which require controllable, automated systems.

The issues Childress will address include how green is being defined; what is important in green construction; how an A/V room can be green; and what important considerations and products a green A/V room must have.

AV in Green Buildings: What You Need to Know will be presented Tuesday, June 19, from 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM at InfoComm 07.
