ICIF Scholarship Program
InfoComm International established the International Communications Industries Foundation (ICIF) to address the industry's need for a high-quality workforce and endowed the ICIF with $1.2 million to fund scholarships for students and AV industry workers.
There are two types of scholarships. Both require that students be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development and information technology. Students with other majors may be considered if they can demonstrate a relationship to career goals in the industry.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to learn more about the audiovisual industry to see if the field is a good fit for them. Applicants, parents, counselors and teachers may take InfoComm's free Quick Start to the AV Industry or download this brochure, which contains information on career opportunities, starting salaries and three steps to employment in the industry.
For more information about the programs, please see the instructions in the applications or contact membership@infocomm.org.
Many members tell us they need help approaching local community colleges and schools about starting an AV program. If you want to be active in your own community, contact us to discuss mentoring workforce development opportunities. The InfoComm Workforce Development Kit gives you all you need to get started.
