RE: Standardized Electronic Pricing Format for Distribution EZip

Dear Valued Vendor Partner:

Two years ago, the InfoComm Manufacturers Council and the SILC embarked on a project to create a common electronic price sheet format for dealers. If you have received this letter and do not have responsibility for adopting the process, please forward to the correct person in your organization.

The problem that dealers have is the hundreds of various formats in which dealers receive pricing. The daily struggle to manipulate for download in to various proposal and purchase order generating systems is arduous, time consuming, error prone and expensive.

Our goal was to create a simple "lowest common denominator" spreadsheet that could be used by all manufacturers and easily imported into any dealer's electronic pricing tool.

After a full year of beta testing, we are jointly and officially rolling out the new industry standard for electronic pricing format named EZip. EZip earned its name because it truly is EASY to adopt and consistently deploy! Compliance is achieved by populating a mandatory number of fields per Part Number, yet includes the flexibility to convey an individual manufacturer's need to communicate specific detailed data. Click here to see a sample of a populated EZip format spreadsheet.

Click here for a set of instructions that explains the rules for populating the EZip data fields. This is not meant as a replacement to ANY of your standard methods for communicating pricing, but as an augmentation to your current practices.

This standardization has been developed and sanctioned by the InfoComm Manufacturers Council whose members include:

Barco, Crestron, D-Tools, Inc., Extron, Kramer Electronics USA,
Listen Technologies Corp., Lutron, Stewart Filmscreens and Winsted Corp.

Although compliance is not mandatory, these dealers are strongly encouraging each manufacturer to adopt and begin distribution of the EZip program as quickly as possible.

The original dealers prepared to immediately embrace the EZip solution include:

Advanced AV Systems Integration, Allen Visual Systems, Inc., Alpha Video & Audio, Inc., Audio Video Resources, Audio Video Systems, Audio Visual Technologies Group, Audiovisual Inc., Audio Visual Innovations, AV Innovations, Inc, A-VIDD Electronics, Avidex, Avitecture, Inc., AVMAN Presentation Systems, AVW-TELAV, Avyve, Blue Sky Integrated Technologies, CEAVCO, Clark-Powell Associates, Comprehensive Technical Group, Inc., Creative Presentations, Inc., Crescent Communications, Delta AV, Digital Roads, Inc., Duncan Video, Duocom Canada Inc., ECS, Electro-Systems Alliance, Excel Media, Inc., Ford AV, HB Communications, IMS, Industrial Audio/Video Corp., Industrial Video Corporation, Integrated Media Systems, IVCI, Lubbock Audio Visual, Midwest Computer Products, Inc., Mission Electronics, Inc., Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., NOR-COM, Inc., Office Environments of New England, Online Technologies, Inc., One Workplace, Pacific Video Products, Presentation Concepts Corporation, Presentation Media, Inc., Professional Business Systems, Inc., Professional Communications Systems, Professional Video Supply, Snader and Associates, Spinitar, SPL.
