DES312 AV Design Level 3: Applied Design
AV Design Level 3 is the capstone design course; it is a comprehensive application of design best practices as they are taught in DES212 AV Design Level 1: Environment and DES213 AV Design Level 2: Infrastructure. Using a customer scenario, you will work on completing a project through conducting a needs analysis to a complete design package. This course blends instructor lecture and collaborative group work.
Who Should Take This Class
Designers completing the design track program. This course is valuable for professionals who work in or have the responsibility for the design of audiovisual facilities, including AV designers, engineers and project managers.
Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended that students complete DES212 AV Design Level 1: Environment and DES213 AV Design Level 2: Infrastructure or demonstrate knowledge of DES212 and DES213 content via online tests.
Course Content
In this course, you will:
- conduct and document a needs assessment
- determine AV system parameters (bandwidth, signal types, etc.)
- collaborate with other professionals
- determine system specifications
- develop AV designs and documentation using best practices and formulas
- conduct project implementation activities
- document digital signal processors
- cover video scaling system design
