DES314 CTS-D Prep
InfoComm is pleased to offer this course to help members and non-members as they prepare for InfoComm’s Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D®) credential. This credential is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Schemes of Persons program .Using the CTS-D exam content outline, you will refresh your knowledge of AV design process requirements. This course focuses on terminology, calculations, test-taking practice and study drills.

Who Should Take This Class
Anyone interested in taking the CTS-D exam may take this course. Candidates should review the CTS-D Candidate Handbook for a complete list of eligibility requirements for the CTS-D exam before enrolling in this course. This course is based upon material from Design 1, 2 and 3, but cannot replace them. It is intended as a final review before you take the exam.
Prerequisites
It is strongly recommended that students take DES201, DES212, DES213 and DES312 — or are experienced designers. The eligibility requirements for the CTS-D exam include a current CTS credential and two years’ experience with AV design. Also, upon reviewing the CTS-D exam content outline, you may determine that you require in-depth instruction in some areas. Use the following documents to determine if you should enroll in CTS-D Prep:
- The CTS-D Readiness Checklist – this document can help you assess whether CTS-D Prep or another course should be you next step in the exam preparation process.
- AV Math Self-Assessment Test – this test covers CTS level math. If you miss more than four questions on this test, consider enrolling in GEN104 AV Math Online before enrolling in CTS-D Prep.
Course Content:
This is a knowledge-based course that consists of exercises and drills to review:

- diagrams

Course registration includes a copy of Audiovisual Best Practices and Audiovisual Systems Project Documentation Sample.
Time Commitment
This classroom course is two days long, eight hours per day.
