DES210 Elements of AV Design

Get to know the audiovisual design process and its people. DES210 Elements of AV Design is intended for technology managers and other non-designers who need to communicate with designers, evaluate designs and interpret design documentation.

Course Content
After you take this course, you will be able to:

  • calculate text height, image height, aspect ratio and throw distance
  • determine image contrast ratio and brightness
  • identify loudspeaker polar patterns
  • select microphone pickup patterns
  • identify viewing parameters, including nearest and farthest viewer, viewing angles and viewing area
  • place microphones correctly for a given application
  • communicate expectations for audio systems
  • read, analyze and create audiovisual drawing sets

This course will also touch upon room factors, project management strategies and control systems.
