Scholarships and Mentoring

ICIF Scholarship Program
InfoComm International established the International Communications Industries Foundation (ICIF) to address the industry's need for a high-quality workforce and endowed the ICIF with $1.2 million to fund scholarships for students and AV industry workers.

There are three types of scholarships. All require that students be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development and information technology and they have experience that supports their desire to work in the AV industry. Students with other majors may be considered if they can demonstrate a relationship to career goals in the industry.

  1. Scholarships for Dependents or Employees of Member Organizations
Post-secondary education scholarships awarded to high school seniors and college students who are employees of InfoComm member companies or dependents of employees. (See application for a definition of "dependent.") To be eligible for this $1,500 scholarship, students must be dependents of employees or employees of InfoComm International member companies in good standing.
  2. AV Scholarships
Post-secondary education scholarships of $1,200 each awarded to high school seniors and college students who are pursuing a career in the AV industry.
  3. Michael Vergauwen Fund
Post-secondary education scholarships awarded to third and fourth year college students and graduate students who are dependents of employees or employees of member organizations to pursue a technical degree to be applied to an audiovisual career.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to learn more about the audiovisual industry to see if the field is a good fit for them. Applicants, parents, counselors and teachers may take InfoComm's free Quick Start to the AV Industry online or download this brochure, which contains information on career opportunities, starting salaries and three steps to employment in the industry.
