Emerging Technologies That Will Change the Future of AV in the Classroom
Joe Cornwall, CTS®-D, ISF-C, Technology Evangelist, C2G Inc.

With analog and VGA all but banished, the rapidly approaching digital future demands that system integrators, designers, owners and operators understand the infrastructure and connectivity choices that are necessary to facilitate a smooth and seamless transition into the next generation of AV technology.

During this presentation we will explore the emerging technologies, both wired and wireless, that will deliver the greatest effect on deployment of the last 100 meters of digital AV infrastructure over the next five years.

IT Standards for University AV
Presented by Crestron

Traditionally designed AV systems do not have the same performance and reliability as IT systems. Servicing and supporting AV systems are also more challenging. Now that AV is digital, and more often going on the network, we have the responsibility to adhere to the same standards as IT.

Today’s classroom systems must meet certain requirements to live up to these standards, including: centralized monitoring and management capabilities for every AV system across campus, systems which are scalable to meet the needs of all room sizes and are deployable in a highly repeatable fashion across multiple buildings and the entire campus, and the ability to support the latest teaching methods such as the collaborative classroom and flipped learning (multiple video displays, student/teacher controlled video matrix source selection, BYOD and streaming).

In this presentation you’ll learn:

  • How to design university AV systems that meet the same standards as IT
  • How to implement repeatable systems that ensure consistent performance in every room
  • The importance of an end-to-end managed solution that monitors every device in every AV system across the entire campus
  • Technologies and capabilities that are a "must" for any new classroom AV system
