Q: What are the changes to membership?
A: Beginning in early 2013, InfoComm International will be offering a streamlined membership with two categories: Corporate and Individual. Our current Commercial and Organizational members will migrate to the new Corporate level, and will receive all associated benefits. Associate members will become individual members.

Q: How much does membership cost in 2013?
A: Corporate membership will be US$500 per year and Individual membership will be US$150 per year. (pricing for other currencies to come.)

Q: Why are you changing the membership categories?
A: InfoComm International has historically had multiple categories of membership and multiple levels within each category.  The primary difference of these categories was the number of EduBucks that came with the membership level.  With the new structure, we’re simplifying the membership options to Corporate and Individual, and increasing the value for all our members.

Q: Under the Corporate membership, are all my employees covered?
A: Yes. Any employee at a Corporate member is covered under the company’s membership, including those outside the company’s headquarters country of operations.

Q: How will I know if my company is already a member with InfoComm?
A: The easiest way to find out is to call your InfoComm representative:

Q: Will the new program include EduBucks?
A: As part of simplifying membership and increasing its value, the EduBucks program is being retired at the end of 2012 and will be replaced by a member discount program for education that will exceed the value of the current program for most members.

Q: Why are you getting rid of EduBucks?
A: While the EduBucks program was initially well-received, it came with administrative challenges for some InfoComm members. A discounted education program will be easier for all to implement.

Q: How long can I still use EduBucks?
A: The EduBucks program will remain in effect through the remainder of 2012.

Q: What happens to my EduBucks balance after December 31, 2012?
A:   EduBucks will not be part of the education pricing program in 2013 and remaining EduBucks will not have any value. Pricing for education classes will be discounted for all members, making it easier to take advantage of the Association’s extensive curriculum.

Q: Can I get a reimbursement for any unused EduBucks?
A:  No, with the new education pricing in 2013, EduBucks will no longer be needed or have any value. EduBucks can be used throughout 2012, and we encourage our members to use them.

Q: Can I use my EduBucks for anything other than education?
EduBucks is a program designed solely for discount on InfoComm education; they cannot be used on any other InfoComm programs such as certification, membership or market research.

Q: Can I use my EduBucks in 2012 to pay for 2013 education?
A: Because the program ends after December 31, 2012, EduBucks may only be used to pay for 2012 education. After January 1, 2013, members will be able to take advantage of specific member pricing opportunities for 2013 education.

Q: Is it going to cost more money to attend InfoComm courses without EduBucks?
A: In most cases, training will cost less. Some online classes will be free for Corporate members, while in-person training and virtual training will have significant member discounts. Eliminating EduBucks will decrease confusion about discounts for Show-related education and training.

Q: Which classes are going to be free for members?
A: We will be offering some of our most popular online classes at no charge, and will be announcing the details in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Q: Will these classes remain the same?
A:   We will likely change our free online offerings from time to time.

Q: I am a Commercial member. Will all my employees be able to take the selected free online courses?
