Mike White, CTS
Mike White, CTS, president and CEO of Multi-Media Solutions, Inc., is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a BS in Electrical Engineering. In 1977, White started a company called Computers Plus, which specialized in Point-of-Sale touch screen systems. It was as the president of Computers Plus that White found himself drawn toward audiovisual technology and systems integration, as his clients' needs accelerated in that direction. In 1990, Multi-Media Solutions, Inc. was born, absorbing Computers Plus within it.
White guided the company, whose mission statement is "Audio Visual System Integration with Integrity", in steady upward growth from a 3-person operation to the current 15-person firm. MMS was chosen as one of INC Magazines 500 Fastest Growing Companies in 2001.
White has brought MMS to Affiliate status with the USAV Group, a national audiovisual integrator consortium. USAV Group hosts a number of professional improvement events for its members, and White organized and taught their Digital Signage University. White has brought MMS to a position of leadership in the digital signage field.
White is sought after as a speaker and teacher at many events. He was the keynote speaker at the National Organization of Executive Office Suites' annual conference, has spoken on control room technology for the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts, and spoke on digital signage at the CTEC 2004 event in Philadelphia and the Tennessee Education Technology Conference in Nashville.
In December 2005, White was elected to the InfoComm International 2006 Board of Governors.
“It helps everyone when a project is done well. It hurts everyone when a project is done poorly. I believe that each of us can play a valuable role in our industry and the success of the InfoComm community by lending our expertise and wisdom to those just starting the journey. That is why I teach.”
