Ian D. Harris, CTS-D, C.Eng, BSc(Eng), is President of ihD Ltd, headquartered in Hong Kong, with another office in New Delhi, India. ihD is an iTechnology Consultancy, specializing in audiovisual systems design and commissioning. Harris has been in the AV industry for 23 years. He started practicing electronics at age 11, building electronic projects. After passing his Radio Amateurs examination and Morse Code test at age 18, he graduated in electronics and communications engineering from London University and joined Marconi Communications, working on HF Systems.

Next, Harris worked for STC’s research labs on the TAT-8 first Trans-Atlantic Optical Fibre phone system and then joined MBB in Germany as an airbus development engineer.  He switched to systems engineering, designing the Cabin Entertainment Multiplex systems. It was this that led him to join Electrosonic in the UK, project managing various AV projects, including Euro-Disney. He eventually worked on several museum projects in Hong Kong, now his home. With a background in technology, but also in build- and documentation-standards, he established ihD Ltd, whose success he attributes to his dedicated, professional, and experienced team of AV specialists, and to the support from his wife Angie, and his five children.
