Steve Witte, CTS
A 1989 graduate from the Communication Arts and Design Program of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, Steve Witte, CTS, has been working in the audiovisual field since 1990. He started his career at the Medical College of Virginia working in video production and classroom support before moving to the event staging business. After relocating to Atlanta, GA in 1993, he worked with the multi-image staging companies Image America and CAV doing large corporate events. Within his experience of event staging, he worked several events at the Atlanta Speech School where my company provided special audio equipment for the hearing impaired. For one particular event he provided audio equipment for an event featuring Heather Whitestone, the first hearing-impaired Miss America. Providing AV for the disabled was revisited when he came to work for Emory University in 1999. In the Emory Classroom Technologies office, he has worked with staff members and the Disabilities Department to make arrangements to provide the audio and visual support for those with special needs.
