The InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist Certificate Program is a recognition program for achieving a basic level of audiovisual technical knowledge.

Essentials of AV Technology in any of its three delivery methods — GEN102 Online, GEN109 Virtual Classroom or GEN111 Classroom.

- Prepare by taking Essentials of AV Technology in any of its three delivery methods — GEN102 Online, GEN109 Virtual Classroom or GEN111 Classroom. All content for the test is covered in these courses.
- Order and pay for the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist test (3 attempts in a 30-day period. A 30-day extension will be automatically provided via email)
- Take test over the Internet, not at testing center
- Pass with a score of 80 percent or above
- Receive a certificate automatically via email that you can print and frame

Yes. Although the 100-question InfoComm-Recognized Technologist test is based entirely on the content of Essentials of AV Technology, you do not HAVE to take the test.

No. You need to register and pay for Essentials of AV Technology separately from the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist certificate program test. You may purchase either one or both of them by calling +1.703.273.7200 or your regional representative, or by visiting InfoComm’s store, selecting your currency, and choosing either the “Online Courses” link, the “Assessment Tools” link, or both.
