Audio Visual Communications Reports the Passing of Steve Johnson, CTS

It is with great sadness that Audio Visual Communications reports the passing of Steve Johnson, CTS, due to complications surrounding a recent infection.

Steve was hospitalized November 5 and passed away early this morning, November 12.

Steve served as a Business Development Manager at Applied Visual Communications. Steve had a successful history of selling advanced AV display systems to the federal and commercial marketplace. He began in the early years of rear projection and cubed based systems and has sold systems for command centers, NOC installation, projection systems for large venue display systems and edge blended simulation applications. He had an extensive knowledge of graphical processing systems for data compression and multi-screen applications. Steve had a unique ability to convey high technology methods and practices in understandable terms and diagrams.

He had previously served as Regional Sales Manager for Barco Projection Products and Electrosonic Systems and has been a part of the AV industry since 1988.

He added a spark and passion to the AVC team. His passing will leave a void that is impossible to fill. He will be sorely missed.

Steve is survived by his daughter Kelsey, a high school freshman. AVC is establishing a fund to assist with her education. Please contact either Carole Peters or Tom Peters for details and how you might contribute to this fund.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 17 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. A funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
