SOURCE: LEIGHTRONIX INC. · RELEASED: 10/13/2009
Sunrise Communications, a cable TV and high-speed Internet provider, recently expanded the Sunrise Cable Network with a new cable headend installation of the LEIGHTRONIX MINI-T-NX video server.

Sunrise Cable Network (SCN) is a network of cable television channels provided to small communities in northern Michigan by Sunrise Communications. SCN provides community programming featuring local government meetings as well as K-12 news and events captured and edited by students. Sunrise currently operates multiple cable television headends and has just completed the fourth installation of a new community channel for the town of Atlanta.
Each Sunrise channel installation is based on the LEIGHTRONIX MINI-T-NX video server, which provides remote media management and delivery, fully automated 24/7 playback, and local storage for hundreds of hours of programming. The all-digital network allows for each video server to be fully managed via the Internet from the SCN main office in Onaway, MI.
“The MINI-T in Atlanta has performed flawlessly. Everything has gone very smoothly,” said Curtis Goldsborough, production director for the Sunrise Cable Network. “We’re currently airing the very first Atlanta High School football game, which was produced by the students (with a little help). We’re also airing several events from the Atlanta Elk Festival last week, including downtown bed races and the annual Bump N Run.”
